Volkswagen "Rusty" 1/10 Scale
So this is the body shell, in my Yokomo DIB.
Here I used a Tamiya surface primer spray.
Some Dremel hork for the little holes (they´ll give a more realistic look later)
Here I masked windows, and painted with airbrush 2 tones of brown color.
In this step I masked all car except the side door and the side mudguard. I also used some Vallejo liquid mask and salt for masking the brown color.
I painted this with white color.... you can see the salt perfectly on the photo. Remove it with the finger.
Mmmm, that looks much better, you can see the painted car with different colors and the brown effect of the top of the car looks quite good.
Here I used a brush with a very disolved tamiya brown paint. Try to imagine how rain affect to rust and paint it.
With brown and orange Tamiya colors (this time thicker brusktrokes) inside the brown parts.
In this rear view, I painted rear lightbuckets with Tamiya translucid colors (X-26 and X-27) red and orange.
Here I used a sticker of Next Wrap-Up, I strongly recommend that stickers.
For My Beetle I used the sticker Wrap-up real 3D light lens Decal Line Medium (004-04)
(I had to cut some shapes to get a similar look to the original Beetle lights)
They look realistic 3D.
Take a look at their website http://wrapup-next.jp
Rear lights are now with the same sickers to get a real texture.
Finally I wanted to built a surfboard, so I did it. and a roofrack to transport it. I attached the roofrack with neodimium magnets, so I did´nt make any hole to the lexan body.
Final details with some stickers for the windows and a bumper.
Hope U like this car paintshop.
