Car Review: 2014 Honda Odyssey
Ever since it was first created, the minivan has been the nerd of the
car world. Now, Honda is trying to make the minivan seem cooler with the
new Odyssey.
In
looks, it still looks like a complete dork mobile. On the inside, there
are a few things that will at least make your drive a bit more fun. You
get tons of features including cameras that show everything that's
behind you as well as next to you. To help you text in a safer manner,
the GPS screen can show your texts so you no longer have to look at your
phone. You also get heated seats to warm you up during the cold
winters.
Performance wise, it's not the best. With a 3.5 liter V6, you only can
get from 0-60 mph in around 7.3 seconds and a top speed of maybe 100
mph. Besides the slow speed, the brakes are not the best either. They do
take a while to slow the car down, especially at high speeds. Don't
bother doing hard and fast corners because it feels like you're going to
tip over every time. At least you get a smooth and comfortable ride.
But then again, this isn't made for performance. This is made for
families bringing children to school. You get room for eight
passengers with plenty of room for everyone. There's also plenty of
things to keep your passengers happy. These include DVD players that can
show two different movies at the same time. There's also a storage box
that will keep their beverages cool. If you need to bring lumber or lots
of construction materials, the second and third row seats come out to
offer enough space for 4'x8' sheets of plywood. Plus, if your passengers
get messy, there's a built in vacuum that can vacuum anything and
stretches all the way to the front seats.
