Honda Brio soon to hit Indian Roads
Honda Motors new small car named as Honda Brio was exhibited in New Delhi in January at the Auto Expo this year is codenamed as Honda 2CV. The new car will be competing with Toyota Etios in the domestic market.
Honda Motors will exhibit a model or prototype of Brio at the 27th Thailand International Motor Expo (commencing on 30th November), it is expected to be closer to the manufacturing model. The entry level small car Honda Brio will be made on a completely new platform which is speculated to be four meters in length with the same engine or a smaller version of the 1.2 litre motor of Honda Jazz. Honda Motors experts are working on a technology of the same motor which is a 3 cylinder version but it will be without VTEC technology.
The new car from Honda is speculated to be launched in the beginning of 2011. The 2CV from Honda Motors will boost cutting edge technology which will help in generating excellent fuel efficiency. Honda is hoping to manufacture the car with sophisticated technology and competitive pricing in the hatchback segment. From the sources, it was revealed that Honda Motors will not come with the diesel version of the small car but may be it can come with a hybrid version of the small car codenamed as 2CV.
The interiors of the car is speculated to be like Honda Jazz and as such the car will have spacious cabin space and comfortable interiors. As per the sources if Honda Motors prices the car economically, 2CV is expected to raise the sales chart for the company. The new car will be no less in safety features such as Airbags and ABS which will be affixed in the car. Honda has researched the market before pricing it. As per the sources, the Brio is expected to be priced less than Rs 5 lacs.
