Mazda
Kiyora, revealed at the 2008 Paris International Motor Show, is the
next generation of urban compact car. "Kiyora" (meaning 'clean and
pure' in Japanese) represents the harmony between driving pleasure,
environment and safety features and aspires to Mazda's long-term
technology development vision, "Sustainable Zoom-Zoom."
The
concept of "Kiyora" helped designers imagine a city car cutting
cleanly through an urban landscape, with water serving as the design
theme of the vehicle. The Mazda Kiyora is equipped with Mazda's next
generation 4-cylinder direct-injected engine, while achieving excellent
fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The Mazda Kiyora also features the
unique Smart Idle Stop System. The improved aerodynamic performance
used in the Nagare (Japanese for "flow") design concept also
contributed to the design of the Mazda Kiyora. An all-new platform was
designed to maximize weight reduction and provide a high level of
safety while pursuing enhanced driving pleasure. The Mazda Kiyora also
features interior design and functionality that support a youthful lifestyle.
