ABOUT:
Gene Winfield of Special Projects is credited with building this car, along with many other futuristic vehicles such as many of the cars in Blade Runner. STARCAR was created as both as physical and CG car. It was later reused in the film Back to the Future Part II as a car parked on one of the streets in the 2015 future setting. The location of the car is unknown, although it is rumored to have been painted red.

4. The Time Machine

ABOUT:
Six DeLorean chassis were used during the production, along with one manufactured out of fiberglass for scenes where a full-size DeLorean was needed to "fly" on-screen; only three of the cars still exist, with one having been destroyed at the end of Back to the Future Part III, two additional cars left to rot, and the fiberglass replica being torn apart for scrap. Universal Studios owns two of the remaining cars, occasionally putting them on display or using them for other productions, and the last resides in a private collection after having been extensively restored.

ABOUT:
The movie model (built in 1982) was a more advanced Dodge M4S Turbo Interceptor – which stands for “Mid-engine 4-cylinder Sport". 6 prop cars were built, 4 of which were only bodies and destroyed during filming. Another two fully-functional props were built for an estimated $1,500,000. The Dodge M4S was powered by a Mopar 2.2 “Trans” four cylinder engine twin-cam that produced 440 horsepower.

ABOUT:
Tim Burton's live-action films Batman and Batman Returns presented a different version of the Batmobile, which reflected that film's Art Deco version of Gotham City, both of which were designed by Anton Furst. It was long, low and sleek, and was built on a Chevy Impala chassis.
