McLaren F1
McLaren F1
is a private car-based Formula 1, very unique indeed driving a private
car with a steering wheel in the middle. McLaren F1 is a sports car
designed and produced by Gordon Murray and McLaren Automotive. In April
2009, F1 was defeated by only four other production car on the speed
of light, but still the fastest production car naturally aspirated.
This car has many exclusive designs and technology. Although not
designed as a track machine, modified race car car edition won several
races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995, where he faced
prototypes purpose-built racing cars.
After
giving the customer cars McLaren stopped production of 100 after seven
prototypes, 64 road cars, 5 special F1 LMS (built to commemorate
victory at Le Mans in 1995), three F1 GTS (the road going version of
the long tail 1997 F1 GTR race car) and 28 F1 GTR road car. Since
delivery, the McLaren F1 and stay committed to continue to service many
cars. Gordon Murray insisted that the engine for this car is naturally
aspirated to increase reliability and driver control. Murray initially
approached Honda for power plants with 550 bhp (410 kW, 560 PS), 600
mm (23.6 in) block length and total weight of 250 kg (551 lb), it must
be derived from Formula One powerplant in the then-dominating McLaren /
Honda car.
