Why Everyone Deserves a Chance at the Wheel

The first driver's license was issued in 1888 to Karl Benz, who invented the modern motor vehicle. Citizens complained of his vehicle's smell and noise, and so he got permission from the city.
Drivers licenses began in North America in New York August 1st 1910, in which all chauffeur were required to receive a license to drive taxis, buses and limousines and a license was not available to the general public. Then, in 1913 New Jersey passed a law requiring everyone who wished to drive a car to pass a driving test in order to receive a
